现在还有一个季度的数据没有统计，但是美国优质手工雪茄的进口量已经到了3亿支了。美国雪茄协会不久前发布的9月份进口数据显示，2021年9月份雪茄进口量比2020年9月份当月的进口量同比增长了13.1%，而2021年1-9月份美国优质雪茄进口量为3.38亿支，这是美国雪茄进口量连续第10年突破3亿支。

2020年1-9月份，美国进口雪茄2.37亿支，今年前三季度进口量同比增长了42.7%。2020年的部分月份因为受到与新冠疫情相连的停工的影响，进口量有所下降，而最终2020年全年的进口量表现的非常强劲。预估2021年最后几个月进口数据公布后，40%的增长率可能还会变化。但是几乎可以肯定的是，美国2021年的雪茄进口量将超过2020年，可能达到4亿支。

9月份的进口量里，尼加拉瓜的雪茄进口贡献很大。尼加拉瓜向美国出口了2340万支雪茄，比2020年9月份的1660万支增加了41%。多米尼加的出口量基本持平，是1319万支。洪都拉斯的出口量同比下降了11.6%，为760万支。

Shipments of premium, handmade cigars have already roared past 300 million units—and there’s still an entire quarter worth of numbers left to count. The September update, just released by the Cigar Association of America, showed a 13.1 percent increase over September 2020, pushing premium cigar imports to 338 million units. That’s the tenth consecutive year that imports have exceeded 300 million cigars. In the same time period for 2020, only 237 million cigars were shipped, making this year up 42.7 percent over 2020 through September. 

Part of the 2020 numbers were negatively impacted by pandemic-related shutdowns, and 2020 ended with remarkably robust shipments, so it’s quite unlikely that the 40 percent gains will stay when the final months are tabulated. That said, it’s all but certain that 2021 will end up with greater numbers than 2020, perhaps as high as 400 million cigars or more.

Nicaragua was responsible for essentially all the gains in the September update. The Central American nation shipped 23.4 million cigars to the United States, up 41 percent over the 16.6 million shipped in September 2020. Dominican shipments were essentially flat at 13.1 million, and No. 3 producer Honduras showed a decline, dropping 11.6 percent to 7.6 million cigars.
